Hating Jews

“Israel is your home”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that at a time of rising anti-Semitism in Europe, Israel is the only place where Jews can truly feel safe. "This wave of attacks is expected to continue," Netanyahu told his Cabinet. "Jews deserve security in every country, but we say to our Jewish brothers and sisters, Israel is your home."- AP, Feb. 16, 2015

Why Hate the Jew?

1.  Egypt enslaved the Jews for 400 years until Moses.  Pharaoh tried to kill Moses – he failed (Exodus 2:15).

2.  Haman attempted to kill all the Jews because Mordecai, cousin of Hadassah, or better known as Esther, would not bow down to Haman and pay homage.  Haman became furious and set about to eradicate all the Jews.  However, Esther became queen and thwarted Haman’s evil plan – “And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (The Book of Esther).

3.  Herod killed a myriad of children under two-years of age trying to kill Jesus.  An angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream telling him to take Mary and the child Jesus to Egypt until the death of Herod.  Thus was fulfilled what the Lord had spoken by the prophet, “Out of Egypt I called my son” (Matt. 2:13 – 18).

4.  Hitler killed 6 million Jews in World War 2. In 1933, approximately 9.5 million Jews lived in Europe, comprising 1.7% of the total European population. This number represented more than 60 percent of the world's Jewish population at that time, estimated at 15.3 million – (Holocaust Encyclopedia).

5.  Today:  Hamas (Gaza) has fired over 11,000 rockets into Israel – IDFblog.com; Hezbollah (Lebanon), in 2006 fired 4,000 rockets into Israel; IS, ISIS, ISIL (Islamic State, Islamic State of Iraq & Syria, Israel State of Iraq & Levant – Levant refers to Mediterranean countries in the region) – different names of the same nefarious organization with numbers around 30,000 radical Muslim fundamentalists bent on world conquest, killing anyone (including Christians) who will not convert to Islam, and ultimately, the destruction of Israel. Then there is Boko Haram in Africa – another radical Muslim group of killers.

Principally, the finances and supplies for these groups come from Russia, who empowers Iran.  Iran is arguably the main source behind Islamic terrorism.  All these groups and nations have basically the same ideology regarding the Jew – kill and destroy.

200,000 Rockets Aimed

Israel's enemies, including Hezbollah, has 200,000 rockets and missiles pointed at Israel, Homeland Defense Minister Gilad Erdan said at the Israel’s Perils and Prospects conference (Oct. 9, 2013, JPost).

Why the Hatred?

  1. Theologically
  2. Nations will rise up militarily against Israel in the latter years (Ezekiel 38, 39) – principally the nations that surround Israel geographically will be involved.
  3. Eventually, all nations will turn against Israel.  Even, if a friendly nation, such as the United States, remains neutral when Israel is attacked, it is as though, in their neutrality, they become enemies of Israel.  Jesus taught this Middle Eastern principle in this manner, “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters” (Zechariah 14:2; Matthew 12:30).
  4. Part of the reason for God’s judgment upon the nations is that they have “divided up my land” – the land of Israel (Joel 3:2).  Who owns the land?  The radical Muslims say the Land of Israel belongs to them – the Scripture states, it belongs to the Jew (Genesis 15:18; Joshua 1:4).
  5. A Jew will Judge the world (John 5:22).
  6. The Abrahamic Covenant in which God states regarding his people, through the promised seed of Abraham, “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you” (Genesis 12:1-3).  Basically, the world hates the Jew, because they hate the God of Israel.  Therefore, many have tried to thwart God’s plan for redemption by endeavoring to wipe out the messianic seed of Abraham (Jesus), and the future purpose of the nation Israel.

Practically

  1. Reasonable thinking people understand there are two forces in the world – Good and Evil.  Biblically, we understand the warfare is between God and Satan (Gen. 3:15).
  2. If Satan could eradicate the Jew from the face of the earth, then he could glory in the fact that he derailed God’s redemptive plan (Isa. 14).
  3. If there were no Jews in the world, then God would be a liar. Why?
  4. The Bible is a Jewish book, about Jewish prophets, priests and kings; about a Jewish Messiah who died and rose again for the sins of mankind; and about a Jewish kingdom that is to come with the Jewish Messiah-King- Lamb-Lion of Judah at the head ruling the earth for a thousand-years; finally, after the thousand-years, this Messiah will be the “Light” and “Glory” becoming the center of all worship, and attention in a New Heaven and New Earth for all eternity.
  5. If there were no Jews on the earth, who would believe in the God of an extinct people, and their Book who declares that the “offspring of Israel” will exist as long as the universe exists (Jer. 31:36-37).
  6. If there were no Jews on earth, their “Book” is false; their “God” is a liar; and redemption and hope through the shed blood of “Messiah Yeshua (Christ Jesus)” is meaningless.  Satan (evil), therefore, would become victorious. – Thus, we can begin to understand why the continued vicious assault on the Jew.

Blessed be God’s name!  The Abrahamic Covenant (Genesis 12:3) is true – those nations who have cursed Israel ended up empires in the dust.  Those individuals who have cursed Israel – ended up being cursed and/or worse.
