A Turning Point – Charlie Kirk’s Assassination!

The most sickening thing after the assassination of Charlie Kirk was to see the celebration immediately afterward – How delighted they were.

People took to social media and praised the assassination.  Retail store owners, doctors, educators, politicians, Muslims, and TV programs cheered at the news.

Thomas Mountain, vice chair of the Massachusetts Republican Jewish Committee, indicated that the hateful comments directed at Kirk after his death come as no surprise:

“Radical Islamists and their leftist allies who justify the murder of Charlie Kirk also justified the murder and kidnapping of hundreds of Jews on October 7, 2023,” Mountain said. “They especially hated Charlie for exposing their lies about Israeli ‘genocide’ in Gaza.” – September 11, 2025, Focus on Western Islamism.

Aggression:

The same celebration came from Hamas and radical Palestinians on October 7 and the 911 attacks.

This ideology that celebrates death and murder has gored the West.  Radical Islam, Palestinianism, and progressive wokeism empowers this hate. Wokeism claims to be inclusive, until they disagree with your point of view.  Then aggression on their part occurs. So-called diversity empowering unqualified persons, transgenderism, pronouns for self-identification, all contribute to this cultural hostility.

Things that are being taught in mosques making their disciples believe that it’s okay to murder Jews.  They imagine that they are doing a good thing for Allah.

Like Terrorists:

The web of influence that surrounded the 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, encouraged him to fire the bullet which he believed was the right thing to do.

Social media, and mainstream media spread this kind of propaganda.  Youth are indoctrinated in schools to think in a certain way.  It is bloodcurdling to know that we have Westerners who celebrate death like the terrorists in the Middle East.

A turning point has occurred.  A culture of death. A culture that hates Israel. A culture that hates Christians – a culture, like first-century Rome, who celebrated killings in the arena, is now birthed once again.

Jesus warned us about such things,

The time is coming when those who kill you will think they are doing a holy service for God. This is because they have never known the Father or me (John 16:2, 3, NLT).

We are frustrated living in this chaotic world.  As believers, we yearn for Jesus to return, as He said, you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy (John 16:22, NLT).

Why did He go away? In part, so our hearts can long for Him, as we live in this hateful world.

As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him? (Psalm 42:1, 2 NLT)

O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water (Psalm 63:1 NLT).

Rewards:

Believers, on that day, will receive rewards from our Master based on our choices, and all will share in the joy, knowing that Jesus worked through our feeble hands and feet.

Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, (Matthew 5:12, NKJV).

And now the prize awaits me—the crown of  righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing (2 Timothy 4:8, NLT).

Martyr’s Crown:

Another prize or crown is the Crown of Life, or commonly called the Martyr’s Crown. Charlie Kirk, along with millions who have died for their faith in Messiah Jesus, will receive, at the very least, the Crown of Life.

Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. The devil will throw some of you into prison to test you. You will suffer for ten days. But if you remain faithful even when facing death, I will give you the crown of life (Revelation 2:10, NLT).

There are believers around the world who suffer for Messiah Jesus. There have been more martyrs for Jesus in the last 125 years than all of church history – see opendoors.org.

Decide!

A line has been drawn in the sand. We must decide.  We must choose which side we’re on. Are we going to follow Jesus and His teaching, or burrow into misguided cultural expectations of trying to please everyone?

If we decide to follow Jesus, we may be hated, misunderstood, or even killed for our faith.

The psalmist said, I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws (Psalm 119:30, NIV).

Jesus asked us to count the cost (Luke 14; John 16:33). The challenge is to die to self, and give ourselves all to Him, or go the way of the world (Luke 9:23). We must make a decision for or against Him!

Joshua declared,

[Only] Serve the Lord. 15 But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:14, 15, NLT).

We are at a turning point in our culture, between good and evil, with opposing ideologies of life and death. There is a choice.

As Moses declared,

Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! (Deuteronomy 30:19, NLT)

Make a choice, decide your path!

Shalom and Blessings,

Dr. Jeff
